While in Hermanus over the holidays we organised a big lunch at our house. Instead of the last minute cooking and prepping, we made everything in the morning so that we could relax, enjoy the day and not have to worry about running to the kitchen every five minutes! Everything was cold, which was perfect for a hot summer's day!

The menu: homemade rosemary and onion focaccia, homemade humus, cold red pepper and tomato soup, grapefruit and rocket salad, aubergine salad and cold roast beef.

I recently found this old copy of the Sunday Times from 1969 in my Dad's garage. It is a special edition on the moon landing. I just love the feel of the paper, the photographs and the ads - especially "Give the man a lucky".

I got given a Kenwood food processor for my birthday - I was beyond excited! Besides being an amazing gift, it comes with loads of nifty attachments including a glass blender. With the hot weather we have had lately, there has been plenty of milkshake making going on. These are two of my favourites.
Blueberry: Blend ice, fresh blueberries, frozen mixed berries, ice cream and a splash of milk. Sprinkle with a couple of fresh berries.
Banana and vanilla: Blend ice, 1 banana, 2 scoops of ice ream, a generous squeeze of vanilla paste and a splash of milk.

I've really been enjoying Tumblr lately - it's such an easy way to blog but for me it's an endless source of fashion, decor and food inspiration.  I've recently been updating my photo blog with some pictures from our trip to South East Asia. Check it out here.

I've always thought gold accessories are the best accessories!

A simple, healthy (besides the pastry) and delicious alternative to pizza. Serve with a salad, steamed asparagus or anything really!

1.Thinly slice 3 red onions and place in a pan with a little sugar and butter. Cook on a low heat until softened and slightly caramelized.
3. Slice a mix of tomatoes (I like Roma) in half and roast with olive oil and sliced garlic at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
3. Top a sheet of ready rolled puff pastry with onions, roasted tomatoes and crumbled feta. Fold up edges slightly. Cook for 35 - 40 mins until the pastry is browned and crispy. Sprinkle with fresh basil.

During our holiday in Hermanus we took a drive to Franschhoek to have lunch at La Motte. It had been raining all morning and it started to clear as we were driving along the R43. The landscape and light as the sun started to emerge was perfect. La Motte is also pretty much a perfect spot for a summer's lunch. You can sit under the trees, wander around the Pierneef gallery, taste wine and of course eat amazing food.
